J5 Films is proud to announce that it has officially secured the exclusive option to acquire the motion picture rights to writer Ryan Jump’s original screenplay, The Adversary. Under the agreement, J5 Films received the exclusive, irrevocable option to purchase all motion picture, television, and allied rights in the property for feature-length production and exploitation.
This marks a major step forward for the project as J5 Films continues to build the creative and production team behind the feature. What began as The Silent Adversary has already proven its potential as a 35-minute proof-of-concept short film, helping establish the world, tone, and thematic identity that will now be expanded for the feature adaptation.
At the center of that foundation is Ryan Jump, whose screenplay established the project’s creative spine as a faith-driven psychological thriller rooted in grief, doubt, redemption, spiritual conflict, and ultimate hope. J5 Films’ option agreement reflects a shared commitment to preserving the spirit of the original material even as the feature evolves through production and development.
In addition to securing the writing option, J5 Films has also strengthened the project by bringing on Tosha Corin as Producer and Sam Jenkins as Director. Tosha’s producer agreement formalizes her role in the development, production, and exploitation of the feature, with responsibilities that may include development and packaging support, casting coordination, scheduling, logistics, budget assistance, and on-set producing duties.
Sam Jenkins joins the feature under a director employment agreement with J5 Films to direct and co-write The Adversary feature. Beyond the formal attachment, Sam brings a creative sensibility that aligns naturally with the project’s emotional and spiritual tension. He is described as a filmmaker especially drawn to stories that explore internal conflict, moral tension, and spiritual undertones within genre frameworks — making The Adversary a strong fit for his voice as a director.
The current project materials also position the film as a psychological thriller with spiritual warfare themes, emotional realism, and a grounded sense of suspense — a blend J5 Films believes can connect with audiences looking for both tension and substance.
With the rights now under option, producing leadership in place, and Sam Jenkins aboard to direct, J5 Films continues to move The Adversary toward full feature production with a growing sense of momentum and purpose.
For J5 Films, this is more than a business milestone. It is the next step in building a film designed to be emotionally resonant, cinematically compelling, and thematically impactful.
