The Story

Every Friday night, a crew of officials walks into a stadium where half the crowd believes they're wrong before the ball is even snapped.

No Home Team follows a Middle Tennessee football officiating crew through the high school season as they balance day jobs, families, physical demands, crew loyalty and relentless public criticism, all while chasing the most prestigious assignment available to them: the TSSAA state championship game.

This isn't a story about rules. It's about judgment under pressure, trust, accountability and sacrifice, and the strange burden of doing a job where the best outcome is going unnoticed. It's Friday night football from the perspective of the only team on the field with no home crowd.
